Finding the Perfect Pumpkin

This week at Lasting Memories we are focusing on seasons change.  My favourite season is fall.  I am so not a lover of the sun and the heat.  Fall is still warm enough be in shorts and tees, but cold enough to not sweat the days away.

My girls absolutely love fall - jumping in the leaves, hallowe'en and pumpkins!

I chose these pictures of my girls picking out their pumpkins at the patch.  They indeed found the perfect ones!

I used this sketch from My Scraps & More Sketches.

I used the Autumn Splendor collection from We R Memory keepers.

The debut of Embellish Me Happy!

Hello!  Welcome to the first challenge at Embellish Me Happy!

We are being asked to create a monochromatic project.  The DT were lucky enough to receive a digital image from The Paper Nest.

Here is the layout I created.  My favourite colour is green so I went with it!

I used papers from the Echo Park Sweet Day collection and the sketch is by Shelby Koehler.  I coloured her with prisma colour pencils and added some stickles to the heart on her shirt and the ruffles on her skirt.  I covered her lollipop with glossy accents to make it shine!  I stitched the clouds as there isn't a layout that I don't stitch on, or very rarely anyway.

I hope to see you linking up with us!  You  have until May 11th at 11:59 to play.  There will be a random draw for a $25 gift certificate from The Paper Nest Dolls!  Awesome prize!

Layout Challenges - Only!

If you are like me, each and every week you scroll through your blog feed trying to find challenges to play along with.  I know when my favourite challenges start, but sometimes I like variety!

So I took a little time today and gathered a few layout challenge blogs and listed them all in one place.

I'm sure I've missed a ton, so if you leave the link for any LAYOUT challenge blog in the comments below, I will be sure to add them to my list.

You can find my list here.

This week at Lasting Memories our challenge was to create a layout inspired by a quote.

Puddles.  You just can't keep a kid out of them!

My quote reads, "You can't tell how deep a puddle is until you step in it."  As far as I could find, this is Miller's Law!

I used the sketch at Let's Get Sketchy to create this layout.

Scrap Your Story is having a stitching challenge.  I used my new favourite tool, the Sew Easy Circle!
All That Stickles is featuring the colour Baby Blue.  I used it on the butterfly and rain drops!

Sweet heart

I'm always taking pictures of my girls.  Always!  So much so that I sometimes get the look from one of them.  I love it though.

Over at Red Carpet Studio the challenge is Brad Pitt!  So in honour of our friend Mr. Pitt, we would like to see a layout using brads!

As always there is a fantastic prize up for grabs, so make sure you link up for your chance!

Here is my layout using just 3 brads.  I guess I'm not that much of a Mr. Pitt fan!

I used this sketch from Bo Bunny and used the Crazy Love line to create it.  I must have really loved this line because I bought it and then bought it again forgetting I already had it in my stash.

Blog Hop..

If you are looking for the Red Carpet Studio and Paper Nest Dolls blog hop, please click HERE.

Thanks, and happy hopping!

A card!

I used a sketch by Joanne Burton to make this.

I originally intended for it to be a wedding card, but could not find the proper sentiment.  Of course depending on the couple, this still might work?  Yes, I know....

I am entering this at One Stop Craft Challenge anything but a square challenge.  Everything is rectangle, hope that counts!

Old, New, Borrowed and Blue Blog Hop!

Welcome to Day 1 of the Old, New, Borrowed, and Blue Blog Hop!

Wedding bells will soon be ringing as the wedding season is almost here, and the design teams of Red Carpet Studio and The Paper Nest Dolls have teamed up to provide you with some beautiful wedding inspiration by creating projects using Paper Nest Dolls digital stamps! If you've just come across the hop and would like to start at the beginning, please visit Red Carpet Studio.

Red Carpet Studio is a movie-themed challenge blog that runs weekly challenges, alternating between layout and card challenges each week. All of their challenges are inspired by either a movie or aspect of Hollywood!

The Paper Nest Dolls is a brand new digital/rubber stamp shop that sells adorable stamps inspired by the designer's children. Their stamps are sold here and they just started a challenge blog as well!

For my project today, I made a card for some friends who are getting married in the winter weather that is supposed to be spring!  My paper was old - Bo Bunny Midnight Frost,  and the alphas were new as I won them at a crop I was at when I made the card.

The Paper Nest Dolls owner and artist, Christine, is very generously providing us with some blog candy from her online stamp shop and her brick and mortar scrapbooking store! To be eligible to win you must comment on every stop of both days of the hop.

Two $20 Gift Certificates

Prima Flower Prize Pack

Now please hop over to Sandra's blog and check out her fantastic card!

This is why mommy drives!

Another fun sketch at My Scraps & More Sketches this week!

I switched it up a bit.

@ the Fair!

I'm really excited to share this layout based on the April 15th sketch from 2 Broke Girls Challenges!

I posted before that they did not ask me to be a part of their design team, but they did ask me to be their first guest designer, to which I happily said, "yes!"

Soar and fly

This is the first time that I am playing in the Scrappy Friends Challenges.  My scrappy friend Lynn and I were at a weekend crop and we each decided to do all the challenges on one layout!

The challenges:

Kristi B: add something that flies to your layout

Kerys: recipe challenge

I have long admired the challenge blog Black with 2 but have never played before now.  I loved the current challenge and had the perfect pic!

--I used bling, also never done before this!

The colour scheme:

Summertime Favorites

I can NOT tell you how much I adore the Sew Easy Circle thingy!  This is the second layout I've used it on and I am hooked!

I used the sketch from Let's Capture Our Memories.

You can call me an Embellish Me Happy Girl!

I am so thrilled to announce that I am part of the new challenge blog called Embellish Me Happy!

I think these challenges are going to help me grow as a scrapper and maybe get over my blingophobe status!

My first layout is complete and I can't wait to share it with you.  I hope to see you participating in our challenges.

Our first sponsor for April is The Paper Nest Dolls! Come play along for your chance to win!!

Featuring You

It's time for another reveal at Lasting Memories!

The challenge this week is to Scrap Your Stash!  I will admit these papers aren't that old, but everything used on this layout was out of my cave and not purchased for it!  The picture is about 5 years old, so that counts to, right?

I used the weekly challenge from Let's Get Sketchy as well.

Driveway Chalk

I've had this picture for over a year waiting to scrap it.  I saw this sketch and thought, "why not"?  I had some chalk sitting around so I tried something new for me.  I'm not sure I like it, but it's done so I'm linking up to Life. Paper. Scrapbook

The sketch:

This is one of the layouts I can share from the crop I am at this weekend.  I found this sketch at Scrap Your Story.  It was a challenge for me!  I love this layout of my older girls holding their sister for the first time.

I used the Spotted Owl Soup 6x6 paper pad by Jillibean soup.  I also finally found the sew circle thingy.  I have to say I am a huge fan!

The sketch:

I am also linking up with The Pink Elephant for their "Celebrate" challenge. What a wonderful celebration when you welcome a new baby into your family!

Can't wait to share the rest of my projects, stay tuned!

I can not wait to see what challenges are in store for us.  More pages for the chicklets' books is always a great thing!

Considering it's Echo Park candy, I am not entering....I already own it...of course!

They are currently accepting applications for the new design team.  You have until April 12 if you want in!

Best of all, there is a giveaway going on.  You know I love the free stuff!

So, I'm going to check out the first few challenges and I'm sure you'll see a post of two from me linked up with them!

That's all for now!

I must admit with the snowfall we had last night and then the rain we had all day, I wasn't feeling very springy!  However, I saw the sketch at Let's Get Sketchy, and a few other challenges, I got to work.

I used my favourite LYB for this.  I am such a hoarder of LYB, it hurts to use it because I love it so much! However, Hello Spring fit the layout of my girls' adventures with their papa during last year's March Break.
